Jungle Tours around Iquitos

We have cherry-picked four optional day excursions that may be combined – for a little extra – with your Ayahuasca retreat in Ashi Meraya. These include:
- A guided visit to the Allpahuayo Mishana Ethnobotanical Garden, located within the Allpahuayo Mishana Natural Reserve (the area officially administered by the prestigious IIAP – the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon).
- A day trip to the the beautiful Pilpintuwasi (a private butterfly farm and centre of custody for rescued and endangered jungle animals, including monkeys, tapirs, the giant anteater and the jaguar).
- A day tour to Quistococha Ethnobotanical and Zoological Garden, to get acquainted with Amazonian life forms….
- A day tour to the Monkeys’ Island, a protected, private natural reserve, and the only place near Iquitos where it’s possible to see monkeys swinging around in total freedom, in the rainforest. Minimum 2 participants required for the Monkey’s Island excursion.

COST:
All three optional excursions above are available for £ 110 GBP p.p. (all together), for two participants sharing and £ 180 GBP for one participant only. They are only available ONLY as part of the Ayahuasca retreat in Ashi Meraya.
Minimum number of participants: One.
Included:
All land and river transportation from/to Ashi Meraya, bottled mineral water, plus entrance tickets for visitors and accompanying staff.
- Monkeys’ Island
This is a Private Natural Reserve which can only be reached by motorboat or speedboat and is the only place near Iquitos where monkeys – including endangered species – are left undisturbed, and can be seen hanging around trees, in the wild.

COST:
The Monkeys’ Island tour makes already – on its own – a one day excursion and, subject to availability, costs £ 185 GBP p.p. extra (min 2+ participants). Discounts for groups. Please inquire for details. It can only be done as part of the Ayahuasca retreat in Ashi Meraya.
Minimum number of participants: Two.
Included:
All land and river transportation from/to Ashi Meraya, meals (cold lunch), bilingual guide Spanish-English and entrance tickets for visitors and accompanying staff.
NOTE
All optional day excursions above may be available only to those partaking to the Ayahuasca retreat, but not to the shamanic plant diet.
